Using the Material Palette's Raytracing Attributes (Available with 3D Canvas Pro)

POV-Ray is a Raytracing rendering engine that is available for free at www.povray.org. Rendering with POV-Ray is much slower
than with Direct3D, however it produces more dynamic images with true shadows and
reflections. Note that the lighting scheme for POV-Ray is slightly different than Direct3D
so you may find that the final image produced by POV-Ray is somewhat darker,
or brighter than the Direct3D produced image. There are also differences in interpretation of materials that may make your objects look
somewhat different.
These material options are, in general, visible when a scene
has been rendered with POVRay. 3D Canvas does attempt to simulate the effect
of these materials, but many of them are only renderable using raytracing.
General
Brilliance
This is useful for increasing the brilliance of metallic materials.
Reflection
Allows you to specify how reflective an object is.
Specular Refinements
Roughness
A Specular highlighting refinement that adjusts the size of the Specular highlight.
Metallic
When selected there is a increase in how metallic the object looks.
Iridescence
Factor
The amount of Iridescence the object has.
Thickness
Iridescence is caused by a thin film on the object. The thickness of the film affects
the appearance of the Iridescence.
Turbulence
Causes turbulence in the film.
Color Patterns
Allows you to specify a pattern of colors to apply to the object.
Available patterns include Granite, Marble, Wood and many more.
Colors are mixed together to create the color pattern. Click on a color
to select a new color, Not that if you intend to use white as one of the
colors in your material you should select it in the left-most color. White
in any of the other locations is considered to be a non-selected color.
Frequency
The frequency of repetition of the selected pattern.
Turbulence
Causes turbulence to be added to the mixing of the colors.
Bumpmaps/Pattern
Depth
Allows you to specify how deep a bump map or pattern should appear to be.
This applies to bump maps as well as patterns.
Pattern
Allows you to specify a pattern to place on the object. Available patterns
include Bumps,
Dents, Ripples, Wrinkles and many more.
Size
Allows you to specify how large the pattern should be.
Frequency
The frequency of repetition of the selected pattern.
Turbulence
Causes turbulence to be added to the pattern.
