Using the Divide Operation

Divides the selected faces or edges.

The Type option is used to permit horizontal or vertical divisions as well as standard (horizontal and vertical) divisions when dividing faces. This option can be adjusted using the Object Layers Panel when a Divide operation layer is active. Note that the horizontal/vertical option only works on four sided faces (quadrilaterals). Also, horizontal/vertical are relative to the object rather than the scene. If you find the division is the opposite to what was expected you can change the direction using the Object Layers Panel as indicated above.

The Divisions option is used to indicate the number of edges to create when dividing edges. This option can be adjusted using the Object Layers Panel when a Divide operation layer is active.
